he new Redmi 6 Pro is Xiaomi‘s attempt to bring mid-range features to the budget segment and keep up with the times. It’s essentially the Mi A2 Lite, which launched globally last month except in India. However, this isn’t an Android One phone, running Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI skin instead.
The Redmi 6 Pro is also the second device from the company, following the flagship POCO F1, to feature a notched display. The specifications are otherwise standard for this price point. You get the Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of built-in storage, a dual rear camera setup, and a large 4,000mAh battery.
The budget and mid-range smartphone market in India is very crowded and Xiaomi is partly responsible for this chaos by releasing a phone at every couple of thousand rupees. As intended, the Redmi 6 Pro falls in between the higher-end Redmi Note series and the entry-level non-Pro Redmi smartphones in terms of specifications and price.
